The Warm Up To Me project brought together six distinct neighborhoods in Toronto that typically do not intermingle with each other: Parkdale-Forest Hill, Thorncliffe-Leslieville, and Jane and Finch-Rosedale. The project featured six living rooms that were installed in a downtown alley during Nuit Blanche, each representing one of the paired neighborhoods. In each living room, interviews collected from the respective communities were played, creating a unique soundscape. For instance, conversations with residents from affluent Rosedale mixed with those of residents from Jane and Finch. Large-scale images of residents from each neighborhood adorned the walls of living rooms Through this project, Warm Up To Me aimed to break down the barriers between communities and promote greater understanding and connection among them.
The project was ranked among the top 20 exhibits by BlogTO: https://www.blogto.com/arts/2017/09/nuit-blanche-exhibits-2017/
